Journal 4/3/2011

Dear Journal:
I had quite a scare yesterday.

My mother was complaining about extreme backaches earlier this week, so we went to the doctor. She had to get some X-Rays and scans. A few hours after the amount (we were at a Chinese restaurant), the doctor called and said we had to rush to the emergency room immediately.

I was honestly scared to death, and I lost my appetite all together. So we rushed to the Emergency Room, thinking that my mother needed surgery, but it was just a scare. The Urologist told us that she could essentially wash out the kidney stone through extensive water drinking.

Thank goodness!

Apart from that, my life has been going fairly well. I'll be sure to update you if anything terrible happens.

Journal 3/26/2011

Dear Journal:

Today is March 26, 2011, the day I created you! I hope we have some good times together as I scribble all over your blank pages. I think I should start off my introducing myself to you. I do want to be polite =).

My name is Steve. I am currently a senior in one of the best high schools in the world, and I'm going to graduate in a mere month or two. I am very excited, a little scared, but definitely ready for what's to come. In fact, I just finished planning out my future just a few seconds ago. I am going to graduate, go to college, and get a job!

..yes, I'm a terrible planner. But things will play out for the best.

Yesterday, I attended the Cherry Blossom Festival stands selling delicious Green Tea Cakes (square and ball form) topped with either cream cheese and white chocolate. My friend Bonnie made them and they were simply delicious. When she wasn't looking I took a cake ball and stuffed it into my mouth. I wonder if she noticed the shortage of cakes.

They were a hit as well, except for this one girl who made it obvious she didn't like them. All she did was bite them, then she rolled her eyes, and started laughing with her friends. Bonnie was pissed (at least I think she was) and so was I. I swear these girls are just doing that for attention. I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to sabotage their stands!

Hours, and dozens of successful cake sales later, a classmate of mine came over with her friends and asked if I had seen a wallet. Her friend's face was simply devastated, and she couldn't keep herself from crying. No wonder either; in the wallet was her month's savings, ID card, and driver's license! We tried (or rather they did. I couldn't leave the stands) to look for it, but to no avail. I bet some idiot stole it.

Despite all these events, the festival went pretty well. It was my first experience selling something, and I had fun! At the end of the straight five hours, I literally lost my voice and most of the feeling in my feet (no chairs. Stand for 5 hours much?).

Anything else? Let's see..

Huge Essay due on Monday dealing with the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. It's a thick and hard book and the author goes on extreme tangents. It's hard to create something academic from a book whose author narrates as his thoughts surge through his mind. Not even I, the most random person I know, can follow someone as random as that.

It's a good book though - if you have both the time and the energy to concentrate. And seriously, who has either these days?

I guess it's time to close you now. It's currently 10:26 PM. My family and I are going to Seattle for some epic shopping and family time. I hate Seattle, but I guess I'll see how this goes.
